Justin, Here in Tennessee Archery which includes Xbow opens last weekend of Sept and run through muzzle loader and rifle till First weekend of Jan. Then Archery/Muzzle loader opens last weekend of Oct. and runs till the end in Jan. Then Rifle/Muzzle loader/Archery opens 3 week of Nov. and closes same time in Jan. Not good at explaining things...lol. But archery is open from star to finish. They just number our Buck kills to 3 per year statewide...no matter the weapon. Then Archery we can take 4 does and Muzzleloader/Archery we can take 4 more. That is the unit A that I live in. We have 3 units here. A,B, & L. In unit L you can kill 3 does per day all year long. So Archery is open all season. It works out really well for us. Click on this link and scroll down and you can see better of what I mean. It works great us here. http://www.tn.gov/twra/deerseasons.html
I say take your crossbow. Take the scope of it and put u some cbe pins on it or a HHa sight on it Then Me and u get out at a practice range at 50-60-70 yards and we will shoot till u can't stand it no more. 5$ a shot closest to the dot wins. Bet u take that scope magnification off the cross gun and u can't hit a bull in the ***!!
This sucker is chalk full of arrogance and selfishness. Sometimes, hunters sure are a hypocritical bunch.
The point of it is if the crossbow is like a bow take the scope off and put a scope on with no magnification.
I have never shot an xbow, but I don't think all of them are magnified. Red dot scope with mildots for hold over. Pretty much same as a compound.
And those I'm fine with. I have no complaints of a crossbow except ones with a scope. There is nothing about a rifle style scope on a crossbow makes it crossbow scope. Get a HHa and put U a magnification glass in it.
I think hes concerned because with a scope, it would help a bit to make a better shot so now the guys with crossbows are going to kill all the deer so he wont be able to get one. Poor little fella...
So if a compound is like a bow, take your sights off... your let off gone and shoot instinctively.... don't you guys see how stupid you sound????
No my point is if a deer is 40 yards and you look thru that scope and u see a 6" hole and u think " see yea I can do that" then u shoot forgettin the arch of the arrow then u hit the limb and it defects the arrow then u hit the deer in the guts or worse. To where as with a compound u can't see that 6" hole jus know there is brush and its lil to thick for a shot so u better not chance it. That's my thinkn on it all
