I have been fishing at Winne Lake near High Cliff and surrounding Fox River locations.
I have caught several smallie's off the edge of the shores and small coves, but nothing to brag about. Most locals I have spoke with hasn't had much luck this year. Anybody in Wisconsin have a different story? Advice for a good general location would be good.

    Thanks

Are you targeting smallies? Are you fishing from shore or boat? Bago isn't known for it's smallies. They're however are some nice ones in there. Go to this site lake-link.com and wi fishing reports page and go to the winnebago thread. If you search in there you should be able to get some idea of other areas to target. I have not been out there much but hear the perch bite is on.

Caught this cat at a boat ramp in less than 6ft of water at midnight this morning. I was using a slip bobber and nightcrawler fishing off the bottom. He weighed roughly 10 poundish. Regardless of the weight what a fighter he was and a lot of fun to catch! I ended up giving the fish away to a park ranger that happened to pull up at the same time I pulled him in. I was going to release it, but the ranger wouldn't let me do that! It's my biggest cat thus far.
