Most notably and important in the new rules section. "During any gun deer season, hunters can use a firearm, bow and arrow, or crossbow as their weapon of choice while hunting under the authority of their gun deer license and gun deer carcass tags. During the 10-day muzzleloader season, a hunter can use a muzzleloading firearm, bow and arrow, or a crossbow as their weapon of choice while hunting under the authority of their gun deer license and gun deer carcass tag. See page 16 for more information. An archery license still only allows hunting with a bow and arrow, except that a person age 65 or older and certain qualified disabled hunters may use a crossbow to fill their archery deer carcass tags. See page 16 for more information. Archery deer season will be open concurrently with the 9-day November firearm deer Thanks to all those involved with AB-384 which set these new rules inplace keeping the archery deer season a human powered season.
I'll take a look at the REGS shortly, but can I hunt with my bow during the gun season with my ARCHERY tag? I prefer to not purchase a WI gun tag this year. Good work with AB-384 buddy. I know you have worked on that bill for some time.
Nevermind....found my answer. Yes, I can use my bow to hunt deer during the WI gun season with my ARCHERY tag in the CWD zones.
anyone know the answer to what i can shoot with a bow...do i have to shoot a doe before a buck or can i shoot either or....the unit i hunt in is 75A....How many bucks can i shoot?
Page 4 In the CWD-MZ, more than one antlered buck may be taken under ‘bonus’ buck opportunities. To harvest an additional buck(s), the hunter must possess a Buck Authorization Sticker obtained after harvesting and registering an antlerless deer, or the buck must be accompanied by an unregistered antlerless deer tagged by the same hunter until both deer are registered together. The harvest of an antlerless deer is NOT required before harvesting a buck using a Gun Buck Deer Carcass Tag or Archery Buck Deer Carcass Tag. This means you don’t have to have a EAB sticker to kill your first buck but you will need to shoot an antlerless deer to earn a buck sticker to kill and additional buck. Every additional antlerless deer you register will then get you an additional buck sticker meaning you can be as greedy as you like.
The WI went to this current system of us hunters being able to tag a buck with our first deer even if we have not earned a buck tag. If you need or want to harvest any more bucks with that weapon you first will need to earn-a-buck by taking an antlerless deer.
