    Congrats Joe!!!!!! That is awesome!

I WILL be hunting this year for sure. The question will be, bow or gun. It will be a hard choice even though I'm leaning towards the bow.

I'm making up for it though. Planning a Wyoming trip for turks with Dubs and hopefully we can meet Will in South Dakota for some birds as well. :)

I feel for you guys that have to put your names in a hat for a tag (unless your hunting is just THAT great). I take our system for granted. We automatically have tags and get a little over 4weeks to hunt (including bowhunting on Sundays, this year).

    Good luck, guys!

    Awesome Joe! Can't wait.

IIRC there was a 28% success rate statewide last year for spring. So no, the hunting is not that great. We only get 5 days for your season. So that should tell you something. However, statewide the turkey season has gotten better each and every year recently. I would love 4 weeks to relax. Our turkey season comes and goes so fast.

Unit 5 from April 20th-24th and I sure hope it is not to early with the winter we've had.

I'm contemplating taking my 3 year old son (4 years old this July). He loves mommy's I-pod so I would have to hand him that to keep him quiet and still. I'll probably be reducing my chances some but it will be worth it.

Meh....its not about the turkeys. Really, there's a lot more to hunting than just killing an animal. To me, its all about seeing the country, trying something new and hanging with good friends.
