Does anybody have any advice or experience with the wireless cams that send pics via text and/or email?
Ive herd some really inconsistent things about the wireless ones. Just wanted to get some thoughts on how well they work and what ones are recommended. Any info will help, Thank You!

I've been using the Covert Special Ops cam and it has definitely changed the way I hunt. No need to go and check your cams and no need to hunt until the deer are showing up during daylight. For me its usually a specific deer I'm chasing so this plays a huge role on when to dive in!

As far as the actual camera, there's a small delay between you get the message and when it was taken, then again I live in the middle of nowhere. Now they have 3G cameras for fast reaction time.

Thanks Rutin, Any problems with pic quality? Can you send it a command text to take a pic back? if so does it work normally?

No problems with picture quality. I've got mine set on taking 3 pic bursts, the 1st of the 3 is sent to my phone. It has one min. intervals to allow for it to send and reset. When you set the camera up you can take a manual picture from the camera and send it to your phone while your standing right there with is so that you know its linked up. If it doesn't work its usually bc you didn't sync your card with the camera before installing or you don't have service. Either way its an easy fix!

No these are 2013 models. The 2014 models are even better with quicker response times to your phone bc they are 3G.

what about battery life on these cams? I assume it's less than without the cell service, but do they have any special power requirements?

Nope, run off of AA's. We had an absolute freezing winter this year and mine would run months on a set of AA's. That was taking close to 4,000+ pics every 5 days also! My non cell coverts will run dang near the entire year on a set a batteries.

So these take sim cards correct? So is each camera the same as adding a phone line onto your account?

Yes it basically is another phone line but some cameras you need to use a specific provider like AT&T. I don't know all the reasons why, maybe someone can fill us in on that one.

Buy a go phone att SIM card for the special ops. And if you are worries about service get the booster antenna. I love mine...and do not go into a spot till daylight pics of mature bucks show up.

Can you just use a pre-paid sim on these cams? Gonna definately have to look into this some more. Would be really cool to have a couple out there.
