I up the feed a little, to 35 pounds. I have a slope off my driveway that blocks the north wind, they bed about 125 yards from the feeder in the shelter belt. Have 3 young bucks bedding with the does too so always want to keep them around.
Plenty of ag and cover for them to survive a couple days of brutal cold and snow near me. We can't feed them in NY anyways.
deer have made it through plenty of cold winters for many years prior to guys feeding and baiting.. im sure they will be ok, besides I think its the heavy snow fall in the later months that is a killer on deer.
