So I got a property opening week this year and had good success this year on it too. But I was out checking cam and doing a little scouting. Due to I really don't know the land too well. It 150 acres with 3000 apple trees in the middle most are over grown. 500 in front arrow being brought back. But I found 7 beds today . It was a south west facing. Now will those bed be the same year round? Good spot to look for sheds?

sounds like beds they use on cold days they will often bed on SW facing slopes...Also see if you can prune some of the trees that are not in production it will help in the long run..

That's a lot of apple trees! If they produce apples, that's where the deer will be next fall. I don't know what part of NY you hunt but where I hunt in the Finger Lakes the apples didn't grow last year. I've often found around here that the deer have slightly different patterns in the winter than they do in the fall. During the winter I like to look for sign of where the deer were rutting the previous fall (rubs & scrapes). If you find any large amounts of this type of sign located in or near the edge of thick cover, you have yourself a good starting point.

Ya it was super thick in there were the beds were. When tracking a deer this fall found a big rub on the edge. And there are a ton of oak trees too. I'm just north of Albany. I will spend more time looking for stuff soon

I doubt this will be their bedding area when hunting season comes around next fall... it's possible. From my findings the deer change areas at least three times a year based upon the food sources available. Your apple orchard will be a gold mine next season! Here in Maine apple trees are king with deer.
