    Anybody watching?

    What events do y'all enjoy?

Are you are traditionalist and believe some of the new events shouldn't be Olympic events (i.e. snowboarding, ski big air, etc)?

Who do you think takes home the gold in Curling? I hear the Finns are strong this year...

Yes. I'm a traditionalist....and I feel some of the new events are NOT worthy of "olympic medals".

I mean.....you're gonna tell me the "flying tomato" is an olympic icon? He's probably got 5X more medals than Bruce Jenner.

    Are you kidding me????

The only thing I really care about Is the hockey. I agree with Jeff also, some of the events are ridiculous.

The X events are just an attempt to pamper to today's weirdo kids.

Yeah.....but it reminds me of moving the fences in 100' and pitching under-handed....and letting the "revised" records stand against the likes or Ruth and Aaron (and PLEASE don't mention steroids. I'm sick of hearing about them).

These "X-game" events are like watering-down a light beer.

Why wouldn't he be? Is he not an athlete?

Would you consider the event more proper if it were dominated by older, more straight lined adults as opposed to "punk" kids?

I understand that they included these new events to cater to the younger crowd, but I think they should be included.

It's certainly more entertaining than curling.

They could make ballroom dancing an olympic event and that Hough chick could be an icon, too.

I didn't say he (tomato) wasn't an athlete. Fuzzy Zoeller's an athlete.

"More proper"? I don't know what that means. More "traditional"? Sure. I don't care how old an athlete is ....be it Shawn Johnson or Dara Torres. Just don't put a TV crew and a spotlight on a chess match and hand out olypmic gold to the winner.

I'll be watching, even though I don't have a favorite event or a preferred event for that matter. I just like watching the total medal count :)

I like the olympics. I prefer summer over winter, but enjoy them both. I am little bit of a traditionalist, but I don't care enough about the newer events to complain about them. Some of those kids are pretty talented to flip around thru the air like that.

Obviously hockey will be my big draw, but after watching the 2006 games almost 24/7(in between jobs) I am a big fan of curling & biathalon. I'll watch the speed skating a lot too.

I watched in 1992, only to see the Dream Team play. I don't think I've watched the summer or winter Olympics since.

I was just going to say, that the ONLY thing I may tune in to watch is Shaun White on the snowboard...I don't even see how the things those guys do is humanly possible. Definitely more athletic and skill requiring than curling and other traditional games.

What he did at the Winter X games was freaking awesome a few weeks ago.

Chalk me up as the one of the young crowd they are trying to lure in, It ALMOST worked...but I still don't care enough to watch it much.

I dont like the winter olympics as much as the summer olypics, mainly because wrestling is not involved in winter olympics. I'll turn in to watch speed skating, luge, and snowboarding however.
