I go back to work Tuesday afternoon at 4pm and I am sure going to miss my truck for the 50 mile round trip. I can only imagine with the deer numbers low already down here how this will effect the herd.
The ice is really sticking to the tree limbs here and it's supposed to get worse tonight. I better get my genny out of the boat!
Yeah, get your stuff ready now. Hopefully you won't need it. We had a bad ice storm with wind a couple years back that snapped power poles all over the place. (depending on which direction the lines were going) It took several days to get the power restored. The trees have been really hammered in the past couple years by all these ice storms. You guys up north that have to drive in all that snow... take care and stay safe!!
We've got about 13" on the ground here, calling for 2-3" tomorrow and 1'+ thursday, then it's supposed to drop into subzero temps again. True Mainers don't complain though!
It is now e en worse than predicted. My area is supposed to get 15-18 inches. The original map showed 10-12". Then 25-35mph winds with 50mph gusts. This might get interesting.
We got about 6 inches last night. Another 15.3" coming yet according to this. I know it's nature and I know they are resilient, but I really feel bad for the deer and turkey in the area. It's going to be tough going for a while.
And I was struggling with the 7" we got a few weeks ago. Which is finally all gone after a couple days in the 60's this weekend. Stay safe up there!
Well things are about to change here in NY. Going to get ugly tommorow. This is what they are predicting.
It helps a little bit when you have one of these. :D No problem getting to work this morning (here now). Hoping to make it here till midafternoon. We will see. Might be my first work snow day since 1999 tomorrow.
I'm sure it does. Here's a couple pics from the snow we got back in Jan and it stayed this way for several days. Keep in mind we are use to 1-2", not 7.
We got 6" last night. Our road was plowed by the city by 5am. I had my driveway cleared by 6am. Didn't even need 4 wheel drive this morning. I have to compliment the county and city road crews so far. They are ahead of the game.
im supposed to be driving to three lakes, wi for the vintage ride this weekend... my have to layover in Mad-town till the storm passes.....
Three Lakes is hardly gettting anything. It's south by Madison, Milwaukee and Chicago that is getting pounded. Once your past Fond du lac you will be fine.
I can't leave yet. Gotta wait for my BIL to get done working. I just have to get there Friday and have about 4-5 hours to set up for the show.
I'm stuck in today. Had a new job that was supposed to start in Chi-town.. but in preparation of the "great snow" we decided to start it after this passes. Although today we could have easily worked.. but with the first part of our job being on a roof.. we elected to stay in and catch-up on paperwork and bids. Bummer... as I loathe the bidding process. Good luck in PA Danno.
