In all seriousness you would probably want to start with some place that has no ice.:D Unless i am missing something here i would love to know how to do it.
We took 50+ carp in less than two hours one fine December night. You need it to be above freezing so your line doesn't freeze. Ice will form on the deck of the boat too which, of course, is dangerous. And of course, having a boat ramp that isn't ice covered helps too. We also go to a nuke power plant lake so the fish stay pretty active even in the dead of winter. Went into a cove and we all said... wow.. it's as smooth as glass! Wrong.. it was as smooth as ice. The whole cove was iced over. Kinda makes the bowfishing tough. Ice on the water's edge. We usually have an ice-breaker shoot in March. Don't we look toasty?? We find lots of weird things when the ice goes out. Find some open water. I know guys in WI go to Pentenwell flowage when it's mostly iced up. If you can find the open water, I guess the carp are thick there.
