Winter baiting tips

    With baiting, it usually entails a pile of said bait. corn, apples, etc... and the problem is multiple deer eating at that pile, dropping kernels out of their mouths, back into the pile as they eat or part of that apple fell back into the pile for the next deer to come and eat. The last deer had a disease and now can be spread through bodily fluids. How many times when your out hunting have you had multiple deer in one specific spot in your food plot? I never have. ones here, ones there, a couple over there, deer are grazers and it's not natural for them to rub shoulders while eating like cattle, but they will when the baits there. That's the difference, one they congregate at and have a greater chance at the spread of disease. the other they're dispersed and reduce that chance.

    Depends on the size of the plot and what’s growing in it. I’ve seen one deer eat, move off and another move in.
