34 degrees and windy. After seeing all the action yesterday and finally getting rid of the sneezes, I'm going out this AM. The forecast is calling for high winds this afternoon and rain through much of next week. Going to sit in a stand until action dies down or wind blows me out of the tree.

Plan B!!!! Got into the stand and 15 minutes before shooting light a truck drove in and released hunting dogs! They must have got on the trail of a coyote really quick as they were baying and moving real fast. I stayed in the stand for another 40 minutes and saw nothing. All I heard were the dogs running through the woods. Best laid plans of mice and men....

IOWAHUNTER - I hunt mostly Lucas County and a little in Marion County.

I hunt jackson and clinton. You dealing with a bunch of corn? We are seeing about 1 tenth the deer we normally see and only had 1 day of seeing shooter bucks. That was last thursday. Are you having better success?

Iowa--LOL. I didn't hunt yesterday to spend time with the family. I am itching today. I might head in around noon and stalk hunt the perimeter of a lake. 20-30mph with occasional gusts of 40mph, and raining like heck. I could walk right up on a deer if I spotted one.......

See, I am convincing myself that my warm house is nothing but a jail cell, and that in reality the cold, windy, wet woods are far better! CIA mind warping techniques are wonderful.

Corn here is still 100% in the fields. Beans left last week. With the rain forecast, they're insane for leaving it longer.

Had lunch at small cafe 11nov and sat listen ing to about 10 farmers *****ing about forecast instead of out picking. They are about one good storm away from picking it off the ground.
