How much wind is to much to hunt in. Really just wondering if deer move much when it's 20 to 30 mph wind gusts. Any ideas?

I have heard they don't like wind much. Guessing that it makes it harder to pick up smells but you miss out on 100 percent of the deer when you are at home.

I've heard they don't move to much when it's really windy out but didn't know how much truth they're is to that, but yes it is a guarantee on seeing nothing on the couch lol

I'm in the stand right now with gusts to 30. Still better than laying on the couch.

no idea how much wind is too much for a deer. but if the swaying of the tree is enough to make me feel nauseous then thats too much for me!

I ended up going out on an evening hunt. Didn't see a thing, bout 30 minutes being in the stand it started to sprinkle, then a light rain. After it started raining I pretty much figured I wouldn't see anything after that but still better than not being out at all. Any of you guys hunt in the rain or is it something to avoid?

The two biggest deer I've seen while on stand I've seen on days where the wind was blowing steadily at about 25 mph. As far as the rain, I love hunting a light drizzle, especially if it doesn't get much worse than that. One major problem to think about however, is if the rain picks up after you shoot a deer you better hope you got it good because that blood trail won't stick around for long

I don't even worry about the wind speed anymore (unless its above 50mph I guess). Look at the other wind thread going on right now for my thoughts on wind.
