How many choose their hunting spot for that day according to wind vs the people that just hunt their favorite spot and rely on their scent control products?

It depends. I try to hunt depending on the wind, but I know there are certain places where it doesn't matter what the weather forecast says, doesn't matter what the wind is doing right now, 5 minutes from now it will be doing something different. In those cases I hunt where I think I need to be and see how it goes.
I've killed too many deer down wind to worry about every shift in the wind.

I hunt the wind always but I am careful with my scent control in case of a deer comes from a different direction than I am expecting.

I hunt thermals in the morning and wind in the evening. In the morning with rising thermals, I'll push the envelope and sit in riskier spots... in the evening with falling thermals I hunt the wind.

I try to have differnt places for different wind to hunt. Sometimes if the wind just isn't doing me any justice i say forget you wind I'm hunting anyway! It has happened that deer have walked in directly down wind of me and let me shoot them.

I try to hunt wind, but sometimes it just won't choose a direction. I just try and control my scent as best as possible, and hope for the best.

I hunt the wind when I can. I rely on scent control when those conditions change and I am already in the stand.

all the scent control products in the world will do you no good if the wind is not in your favor.

I have two stands I primarily hunt, there are three others I go to if the wind is bad.

hahaha. i actually prefer to set up 4-6 buck bombs in a 40 yd radius around my stand at all 4 points of the compass. that way no matter which way the wind blows, i'm covered :tu:

*disclaimer. the above post is in no way supposed to be taken as reality nor is it an advertisement for the use of buck bomb*
