Have never stayed home due to wind...family and work dictate when I can hunt - not weather. If it's crazy windy - take a slow walk instead of sitting in a stand with zero confidence...it's amazing what you'll see some days just slipping through the woods in real windy conditions. I always say "the deer don't move to town" at any point during the season - they are always there, even the biggest bucks in your area - it's up to you to figure out how to get within bow range!

I'm with drenman, with 20+ mph I won't hunt. Unless the rut is going on of course. I really CAN"T STAND the wind though. :hater:

If it's over 20 (can't hold on target from the tree movement) I just still hunt from the ground. The noise and movement from the wind makes for great cover.

40-50 I consider it dangerous even on the ground still hunting.

Regardless of wind, weather, etc. I Hunt! The Deer are out there & so am I! :)

I've Killed some Nice Bucks in some terrible weather extremes.
