I remember seeing a chart of some kind awhile ago someplace. It showed the cone that wind would disperse your scent for different mph over different distances. I'm wondering because I have a perfect little setup in mind at the mouth of a funnel. With the predominant winds in this location it is borderline whether or not the wind will blow my scent into a bucks bedding area. It's tough to describe, but I was wondering if I could still get away with hunting this stand during a north/north west wind. Where the bedding area sits and the angle these critters come from it is pretty close. Also, do any of you try to really pinpoint the wind from where you think the deer will be coming or do you gauge whether or not you will hunt a stand by 'general" wind direction.
It would be interesting to see this chart! I always pinpoint my stands as to where the deer are coming from to where they are going to. I'll pretty much stare down the trail waiting for them to show!
