I gotta say, even though it should have happened 4 years ago.....the fight with the most potential for fight of the year in 09' has got to be Shogun/Liddell coming up at UFC 97 on 4/16. This is the fight I'm most excited about this year. I can only hope that Shogun comes with a gas tank, and keeps his chin low, because I know these two are going to stand and bang until only one is left. I don't see this going to a decision.

In my opinion, back in pride days he was THE most exciting fighter to watch in the world. 15 of his 17 wins are from KO/TKO, and he has some wins over absolute top tier fighters before his pair of knee injuries. I can only hope that after a good recovery period, the UFC fans can see what he is capable of. At 27, if he can get healthy, we should get to see many more years of fights. I'm hoping the Liddell fight is going to when he shows the UFC who he is.

A quick video of the real shogun. Do you think we will ever see him fight like this again?
