I have a PSEat #55,27" draw. I switched to Slick Tricks after Rages failed twice. Stick with solid fixed blade with that set up

Yea I'd like the pass through rather than just an entry hole. I was a little weary about the mechanicals anyways. I've heard people say they haven't opened or had good penetration. Rather know that when I shoot it will cut that deer up and not have to worry about if the deer will go down or not

I'm not bashing the heads at all, because it seems like people have had real good luck with them. But I shot NAP Killzones last season, and didn't have a blood trail to speak of at all. Out of the three deer I killed with them, I probably had 100 yards of blood trail total. I don't know what it was, but they just didn't bleed. I have plenty of KE shooting a 440 grain arrow from a bow shooting 70lbs at 30". All three died within 100 yards though. I think I will be going back to fixed blades for the second time after trying the 2" mechanicals.

I pray there is a day that all of our newer members (and a lot of the older) will actually listen and come to sound judgement like this.

    Will mechanicals work? Yes.
    Can mechanicals fail? Yes.
    Can FB's fail? No.
Is there any advantage with a mech. over a FB? 100% NO.

    See the trend?

Yea I was just wantin to venture out to the mechanical side because all the "hype and marketing". But I'm gonna stay with the fixed. They can't go wrong unless it's shooter error.

Get you some low ke and give them a try. If you don't like them switch. Sounds like to me a lot of these guys have had problems with mechs. I shot 2 deer with fb before I ever recovered my first bow deer with mechs. I've never had a problem and if I did I doubt I would return to fb.

They will work but I will urge you not to switch to mechanical. I fell into the big hype over these new mechanical broadheads with gaping wound channel capabilities. I lost what would have been my biggest bow buck ever last year due to a faulty 2 blade rage. It passed 3/4 way through the deer and feel out as the buck was running away. It was not a marginal shot by any means but when I picked my arrow up, both blades were still locked into the shock collar. Yes I had success with the rages but that one time it decided to fail was a buck of a lifetime. I think its best knowing when your arrow hits a deer, it will work and not malfunction. FIXED BROADHEADS ALL THE WAY.

I agree with many of the comments regarding using a fixed cut on contact head. I shoot 52 lbs and my wife shoots 42 lbs. I use RazorTricks and she uses Magnus Buzzcuts. We have both had pass-throughs on deer and elk. If you notice on the TV shows many of the mechanicals don't get much penetration. You have to have some poundage to get a pass-through with them.

I use mechancals on turkeys to get a big cutting area but don't use them on big game.
