So I'm headed West with my buddy Rick James for a few days of public land scouting and some turkey hunting in Kansas. Neither of us have either set foot in the state before. We have been given some good intel from people who have hunted this area in years past, but that's all.

Saturday/Sunday will be spent walking ground looking for spots to deer hunt this fall as well as looking for turkeys. Monday/Tuesday will be spent chasing dirty birds.

So what are the odds that either one of us connects?

Just don't come back until you do, then you have a 100% success rate

 So why exactly does it matter to you which weapon someone else chooses to hunt with? Should all hunters be making decisions based on other people's standards?

    Hahaha! YES!!!!
It's primary based on popularity and if there are cameras involved.
Mainly you have to decide for yourself if you are a "sis-hunter" or a "binary-hunter"

All jokes aside, every is entitled to their opinions and I just want to see people having a good and legal time with friends and family in the outdoors

My opinion completely revolves around if Decroo is your informant or not.

Sorry I've removed the magic 8 ball app from my phone...but if you got your intel from TJ, my sources would lead me to say good odds.

Will you guys be hunting from the same blind or going out on your own? That answer will help with my vote

Probably pretty good, there's a lot of turkeys here.

One tip, when you're scouting be sure to keep an eye out for small clusters (3/4) of tall trees like cottonwoods or something, seems the turkeys around here prefer roosting in a small group of trees rather than in the actual woods.

We'll be hunting in separate blinds, but sleeping in the same bed. With a pillow between us of course.
