I have recently come into possesion of a 15 acre parcel of wooded lot surrounded by farm fields in Northwest Ohio and was wondering what fellow bowhunters do in regards to land and wildlife mangement. How many of you guys plant food plots and what are your strategies for doing so? Do you manage the land for any other wildlife?

I'm no expert but I hunt a piece of land familiar to the one you have.

My land has a nice wheeler trail running though it, and i put a food plot on that trail, because from what i have experienced the deer would rather hit my plot, during the day with the cover of the woods. usually mid day late afternoon (right before they head out to the big AG fields) and they would wait to hit the fields when it becomes dark.

I hope that makes sense? Also my plot is right on there way from the bedding areas to the fields, so a lot of times they would start showing up in my plot half an hour to an hour before dark.

Hope i helped a little bit, i am by no means the best guy to ask but it works for me.
