hey guys ive been using trail cams for a few years now and havent experienced this problem yet so maybe someone can help me. i just bought a new wild game innovations infared 8mp camera. Recently ive been getting pictures that are completely whited out almost that looks like high sun exposure. Has anyone else experienced this or is there anyway to fix it.. Could it be that a deer is just too close and the IR is so strong it does this? I know its not the sun because it happens in the middle of the night and i always face my cameras to the north to reduce glares and things of this nature. just let me know if anyone has experienced this or if anyone has any ideas as to how to fix it.
I've had it happen a couple of times never repeatedly. I would call the company and get a new one the last thing you want is to put a trail camera out and check it only to see white out pics!!!! I think some other guys gave talked about this happening and they used their warranties and got new ones..
I get that a lot with my Wild Game cams. It's over exposed by the sun. I'm gonna try putting some sort of hood on it to block the direct sun. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Never had it happen at night, but I do get the white pics in one area where I have lots of movement around 7:30ish. While it is bright out for sure, some reason the IR still triggers. I got a steal on mine and other than that I have no complaints. I have tried facing the cams in different directions, any input?
The information that I have gotten about my EYECON camera is that the white out is cause by the morning dew. This the only time I might have this problem. In the morning sometimes. Depends on the moister in the air. Other than that no problems.

Face them south. Best that i have found. North still catches alot of glare and whiteouts for me. Also. I have found that little tree rats and coon getting their tails infornt of the camera causes the same thing.
Same issue they had last year with transition pics - going into the night/IR flash mode to early in evening and out to late in morning...took them til august to manufacture cams that had fixed the issue(firmware change) but they weren't on the shelves til very end of september and october. Definitely a quality control/testing issue that WGI has a reputation for...and they don't last long either.
I bought four wildgame cameras at one time due to the price of them. I thought they would be ok. three out of the four do the same thing and the same three you can not see any nighttime pictures on. I know plenty of people who do not like wildgame because of their problems. If you are looking for a really good cheap IR camera buy a HUNTER. The only place i have found them is at Scheels. They take great pictures.
I have a cheap IR Wildgame camera and it takes great pics! Make sure the weeds around the camera aren't too close to it. Other than that, sounds like you got a dud.
i think this is the problem because it looks like the ir is going off during the day thats the only way i can describe the picture.. well that some horse ****. You think the IR would be set to a light sensor or the time in the camera. My other wild game camera is fantastic but this one sucks which makes me mad cause i spent more than i normally would to get a decent one. Nothing i can do i guess, i just hate the fact of looking at a white out picture thinking theres a giant that i cant see.
Switch it to video, if you have a big enough card or can check it often. I don't often get all white videos at sunrise or sunset And if i do, you can still make out what is goin on. Its not as severe as with the still pics
