I bought three news cams last few months, 2 Terra X and a Kicker.

All three developed the a time glitch where they turned the days back ~6 days at first around Nov1. A 36 hour time period was void, which is nuts around here.

Some did it again after being reset. I'm still checking/tracking the issue.

A Switch model also gives fantastical dates occasionally from way in the past 19xx or the future like year 2121, and it gets time from the national radio system. It has given conflicting file dates with time stamps in opposite but not equal future and past aberrations for given vid.

Hard to track the deer movements ....

Non WGI cams have not been affected. I run about a dozen cams at any given time.

Anyone else notice this? I can't be the only one.

I used the contact form at their website a ways back but no response so far.

Update. Both X cams were again date disturbed, by different number of days Today's date on X1 was 11/7 instead of 12, and on X2 11/2. Reset them again. The switcheroo seems to happen right after start up affecting all subsequent files. But if you check the time after cycling the cam off and back on the date looks good.

More complete information: I think this only relates to newer WGI cams. I have an old WGI Mirage and even older Terra that never exhibit this behavior. Only these 3 recent purchases.

After the season I might do some testing. Like set them to late October 2023 and see what happens. And try Jan 2, 2o25. Too see if it is now endemic or only trigger around Oct/Nov 24.

Anybody got a good email for WGI?

I just noticed that Stealth cam sponsors this section, and They seem to be the same entity as WGI/GSM. Same contact info at respective web sites. So this brings my questions, Does our sponsor read this forum? Can you Chime in?

Checked them today. The terra cams both had the date setbacks. But different number of days. I reset each and cycled them off only to find new setback dates. I reset them again and just left them to see if they can function and not setback the date without a power cycle after fixing the date. When changing sd cards you always cycle them off.

The kicker had the correct date but hadn't captured anything, not even me approaching.

One of the Switch units had a major freak out and took nearly continuous vids adding up to over a thousand and eating the battery. There is no adjustment for length available, so 15 seconds each. adjusted to 5 second interval, about 3 per minute.

No news from the folks at GSM/WGI yet.

I see many viewers but no comments. I am really interested to hear from anyone who has recent purchases of these and what their experience is.

Or failing that, what cams are recommended for better performance?

This SD card swap had all cams functioning normally. I cycled them off to swap cards and they held the correct date and the card contents were good.

So these malfunctions were present for the peak rut. Very odd timing. Almost as if a disgruntled coder was going for maximum customer angst. Hit the target on my back in the xring.

After the seasons are all over I will be testing to see if the problem would reoccur with changing the dates back to late Oct early Nov, and more importantly those months 2025.

So unless the issue crops up again you won't be bothered with my reports for a while :)
