So I heard a report that wild pigs have entered northern Illinois?? Also that we can shoot as if it was like shooting a nuisance. I know they do alot of damage and I will be the first to start slaying some pigs if this is true.
If you like your deer and turkey hunting, you better kill every pig you get a shot at. That being said,I'll take wild pork over store bought any day.
I have been looking for a place to go to hunt wild hogs in wisconsin does anyone know where I can look
I think west-central Wi. is where the feral hogs are located. Just a guess thou. You might want to try searching the Wi DNR website for more detailed info.
IL DNR does not say where in IL the pigs are at - only that there are some. The DNR has asked hunters to kill them on sight, so long as you have permission from the landowner. I have heard of some in Fulton County (on the Illinois River), but have not heard of any other places. I would not be surprised if they are in the Shawnee NF in Southern IL, though.
I have read that's exactly where they are, have not heard of them being in the north. I do some hunting down there and would be happy to oblige in killing them!
Right before the 1st gun season there was an article in Springfields state Journal Register about Ferel hogs. stateing hunters could shoot them . Also stated they were in Sangamon County.(others also) I live in sangamon and have not heard of any sightings.
