interesting. The one thing me & my ex never fought about was money. She had a job, I had a job. We had a joint account that paid the bills & bought stuff for the house, etc. The rest was our individual money to spend as we pleased. She never asked to go on a shopping spree, I never asked to buy a gun.
I do believe the "you're screwed" crowd has hit this one on the nail. While she is gone, she will spend numerous non-shopping hours looking for corners to cut at home to enhance her trip. Everything she decides is a non-essential luxury will be things you consider essential basics. Hunting gear - not essential; sat tv (everything she likes is on antenna) - not essential; money for your lunches (she can pack a bologna sandwich for you) - you got it, not essential.......when she gets done, her life won't have changed a bit (other than she got her shopping fix) and you my friend, won't have a life anymore.
I find it hard to believe that no one questioned why she had to ask. I also find it hard to believe she has no clue about the finances. Sounds like she must have SOME idea of what your financial state is if she stayed within reason.
I don't get your point? Obviously she knows how much we both make, but if you were to ask her how much money we had in savings or in our checking, she would have no idea.
This thread turned out to be uneventful. I was pulling for her to go on a mass spending spree. I'm disappointed.
I agree! I thought this could've been another 10 plus page thread. Instead it turned into a lackluster snoozefest!
I apologize. But the weather is warm, and the fish are biting, and I'm about to buy a new kayak and some new fishing gear, so maybe I will be the one that absolutely blows the budget.
Ahhhhhhhh.... now we've found the reason for restraint in her buying... so you can have your toys. LOL Can you tell us what cooking websites your wife visits. We'd love to go over there and visit to see this thread from her point of view. I bet you'll get ripped apart by those ladies. LOL
