My wife called to tell me she would be late coming home from work (she's a pharmacist) as they were just robbed at gunpoint as they were closing, but luckily the cops caught the lowlife piece of garbage outside of the store. I think I'm more shook up than she is. He evidently just got out of state pen, and will be heading back for a much longer time. I wouldn't mind seeing him handed his when he's back there. Hopefully it involves some very bad things. Anyone here ever actually held up at gunpoint?
Glad to hear she's alright. As for the criminal, given the economy and lack of jobs I'm sure he'd do anything to get back in to the resort. Err.. prison.
Nope. Been in firefights before, but that's a long way from being unarmed and having a firearm pointed at you.
Glad to hear that she is OK and they caught the bastards. I have been held up at gunpoint before. The two criminals asked me and the two other people I was with for our wallets. They took the money out and actually handed me back my wallet. They made off with a total of $31. It didn't really hit me until later when I was telling my wife what happened. I have been around guns my whole life, but having a loaded one pointed at you is a weird feeling.
Dang MGH! That is some serious stuff. I am really glad they caught that bastard. He should be working on a chain gang six days a week for about 10 years to pay off that debt. Been robbed at knife point when I was a kid. NOT fun.
Wow Matt...that has to be a scary feeling. Glad she's okay and that the dirtbag is rejoining his "thuglife."
Dang, Matt... crazy to even think of knowing someone that had that happen to! Glad to hear she's safe. Never have... been nervous a few times. I actually was sitting at our bank's ATM last summer withdrawing some cash when a guy on foot walked up behind my car. I pulled my carry piece and had it pointing outside through the driver's side door in case he approached. He didn't; he waited at a safe distance behind and only went to the machine after I pulled away.
Thank God your wife was not hurt and they caught the joker!!! A gunman walked into the drugstore in the town I live in. He demanded oxicoten. The pharmisist went to the back to "get it for him" and returned with a 12 gauge pointed at the robber. He turned tail and ran. No one was hurt and the police later managed to catch him also.
Wow, glad it turned out ok except for the emotional scars I presume would be present. Yes, I was held at gunpoint 30 years ago or so. I was working for Pepsi as a route salesman and was delivering to a Safeway store in Wash DC before the store opened. I tap on the door and was let in by what I thought was a store clerk. As I walked to the soda isle I turned my head and saw people lying face down on the ground. He didn't even have to tell me to join them as I was already on my way to the ground when he said to hit the floor. Once down he stood at my head and told me while pointing a gun at me to empty my pockets. When I did he told me to get up and walked me to the back of the store and locked me in the freezer where the other store employees were. Long story short they (2 of them) pistol whipped the Mgr and had him open the safe. A sawed off shotgun was found lying under my truck and it was determined a third bad guy was sitting in my truck as a lookout. Fingerprints from my truck and the shotgun caught the guys.
glad she is ok! had one pointed at me once and will never forget the feeling.... small scar on my side from a childhood fight and the kid had a pocket knife but nothing like your wife's ordeal.
Damn, that must be a horrifying feeling to have that happen to your wife. It is the one thing I fear about my wife's job, as she is the manager of a high-end women's clothing store. When she closes, she is usually the last one to leave the store. The store is in a good part of town, but I still don't like it. I've never been robbed at gun point, but when I was about 13 or 14, I stumbled upon several shady looking guys on my parent's property. I walked up to them to see what they were up to, and one just looked at me, pulled a pistol out of his jacket, waved it at me, and smiled. I immediately just ran back home and called the cops (I was home alone) They were gone by the time the cops got there. Scared the crap out of me.
Matt im so glad it didnt go south, it could have much worse. Im sure your both shook up over it as should be. Im glad they caught the scum to. !
Glad to here your wife is ok matt. People like that you would like to take the gun and stick it up their arse and pull the trigger till it goes click! Glad they caught the cockroach!
Glad it turned out in a good way. That's some serious stuff. You're doing your job and some jerk sticks a gun in your face while you're stacking napkins or something. I agree with Iowa Vet..... much worse than in a close up fire fight situation where you're prepared and already in a fighting for survival mode. They should really lock these sleeze up for a very very long time. It's only a screw up away from you being dead..... and all you were thinking about was getting home and having a little wine or something.
