So Im about to make a trip up there right around rut time on the 12th of November. I've been hearing from a lot of people that the deer arent staying put because of the dryness right not. Can anyone tell me different? Dont want to pay all the out of state fees for nothing.
What do you mean not staying put? I have been seeing plenty of deer, I have already shot my buck and a doe so far. Im getting some daytime scrape action on camera, and have messed with a few bucks with the buck roar already.
I'm hunting 30 minutes south east of Wichita. I'm up near KC for college so my hunts are limited. The first 3 evening sits I went on I saw 68 deer total. Not sure if it is just the area, but I had good luck. This last weekend I made it out for an all day sit and a morning sit and only saw 8-10. It was really windy so that could be why, but I'm getting some good Trailcam pictures. I wouldn't pass up a Kansas hunt, although I've never hunted out of state. Great deer, great land. Good luck and have fun.
