Just curious if any of you guys are still seeing any action in WI? I have been out a couple times this past week and haven't seen anything really since the snow hit. Saw 7 does tonight but not a single buck. I have a couple good shooters on camera but they are all at 6:30 and later.
I seen 17 in 2 hours on Friday morning. Went out yesterday, nothing!!! That is in northwestern Wiscosnin. It's very dead but hey hopefully it says that way so my deer dont get slaughtered during rifle this weekend.
Been one of the worst hunting seasons in recent memory for me. Been out at least 30x's this year, saw one buck. Maybe it's time for new land?
Saturday morning was the best morning sit if the year for me about 12 does. One really nice buck chasing in the distance and a small 6 with a broken front leg had his nose to the ground. Couldn't have been hurting him too bad. Then didn't see a darn thing on Sunday. That was in northeast wi. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I haven't hunted since October 5th when I tagged a good buck, but have been checking my cameras every 3 weeks or so. Just pulled the cards from my cameras on Sunday and I have a bunch of day light movement of some nice bucks. But most of the people that I have talked to around our area have had an absolutely horrible rut.
Saturday the 15th was by far one of the best days I have been out! I seen 10 different bucks from 11:00-2:30 pm, all chasing does. Other than that day, it has been really slow for me.
I'm in central Wisconsin. I hunted hard (full days) the 7th through the 13th. Had mature bucks (3.5 or older) on there feet during daylight hours four of the days. Either early mornings or mid afternoon time frames seemed to be best. They were either seeking or actively running with does. One the largest impacts on hunting the past couple weeks that i've noticed with the early freeze is that the does aren't bedding in the swamps like they typically do this time of year. A majority of them have shifted to higher (dryer) ground. This drastically impacted my stand location after a couple days of not seeing much. They are moving. Good Luck
