    hey all, whoever is coming up we'll be staying at the jackson county east arbutus campground. Drive around to the back portion of the camp by the lake in the electric site area. I have a green ford f-250 crewcab pick up. I"ll try to post a sign in our camp so you'll recognize it. see who's ever gonna be up there, up there.

    Good luck to all of you guys Hank. Sorry I couldn't make it, maybe next year. BTW, my daughter is in labor as I type this so I'm gonna be a grandfather today........again!

    I stopped by the campground yesterday, unfortunately Hank wasn't there yet. We did talk on the phone for the better part of 40 minutes as I headed toward home tough. I may try to head down there next weekend for a visit. I am only about an hour and a half north. Good luck guys.

    Thats to bad! There is all kinds of Deer sign here this week. I walked around my 40 on Sunday and did not see any sign. Then I walked again on Tuesday and I counted 9 0r 10 scrapes and a bunch of rubs.

    well I'm back home. it was a complete bust. maybe the light switch will be on this coming weekend or next week. I hunted a well worn trail with a fresh rub, 5 scrapes two under a licking branch 25 yds from my stand and not a single deer seen in 4 days, I mean nothing. not a sound of them moving anywhere, nothing on the road side at night, absolutely nothing. It was the worst it's been since i"ve been going up there since 1992. Maybe it'll improve but with thunderstorms predicted tonight and into thurs I figure'd I'd cut my losses and hunt back home. Most of everyone cancelled out except for Wibowhunter and Jason. Sorry guys, but it really sucked up there and i'd say not to waste yer time there at least for this week. the Weather was perfect, 20s at night 40s during the day. only a light sprinkling here and there, no wind in the evening. you could hear a mouse fart but nothing at all. In fact as weird as it was I only seen 1 pine squirrel in the 4 days of hunting. and those little varmints are everywhere. So maybe we'll try next year with alot more notice and discussion.

    I've been up north near you for over a month. The deer activity is very slow right now. Some nice bucks have been taken but you have to be in the right place at the right time. The guys that are hunting around me haven't seen anything in almost a week, I've been waiting for daytime movement on my cams before I would hunt, but I couldn't take it anymore, so I hunted Mon night. I saw nothing from my favorite stand. Not even the does. I was surprised (bummed). The guy cut his corn that borders my property this afternoon around 4 pm. I hurried to my water hole stand which is 50 yards off the corn with the perfect wind. At 5:45 pm I had this bent tine buck come in. I passed. Saw another deer on the way out.

    Last year I was getting daytime pics of mature bucks around Oct 25th. I do think it's going to be like a light switch any day now.
