I don't really view it as a bad thing...........just a dumb thing given the target reading audience.

It's too far fetched to be deceptive........a 120ish buck would be deceptive, but enough fall each year to be at least something to daydream about on stand. They put 160" hogs with 7" of mass on the cover on a regular basis. LOL

Again........I don't really consider it a BAD thing so to speak. I really think it is DUMB more then anything else.

Putting huge bucks on the cover makes their mag blend into the lanscape of the 10 other mags on the shelf with the same huge bucks.........I really don't see how it could sell MORE mags for them.

I honestly believe that if they dropped REAL bucks from NY on the cover in the 100-110 range (along with REAL stories of bigger harvests inside)it would appeal to more local hunters because these are deer they have actually seen and have no problem believing one could be on it's way past your stand any day.

I always find myself immediately drawn to the REAL stories of local guys who dropped a solid buck............sure beats the hell out of staring at the cover and daydreaming about something that will never happen. I just prefer reality to daydreaming about winning the lottery.
