Stan Potts hits it on the head per usual "give it a second". I was taught this when I first started, patience and it'll present you a better shot, if not the deer wins this one. its all about the pursuit not a "now or never" mentality.

I totally agree, quartering to shot is to risky, but why isn't the ham shot considered ethical?
