    Hunting is what I do.
I feel much better knowing that I procured my own meat/food.

I can't stand turkeys, ugly birds and a butterball from the grocery store tastes way better than a wild turkey. Zero desire to spend any time hunting them.

I've just never had any interest in hunting turkeys. Maybe it's because I grew up on a turkey farm? :)

First turkey season for me this past month and the buck fever feeling is I would say bigger with turkeys for me, specially with no blind and hunting woods, you Hear that gobbling sound and once they hear you calling them either they are coming to you or they leave but when they come to you and you can see them spitting and drumming 4 maybe 5 yards away, oh boy!!!

Hunting birds of any kind has never excited me much. Clear enough?

Not sure about tasting better, got a turkey this morning (bow kill) and had it for dinner tonight. We were having turkey legs anyways and decided to test wild vs. store bought and all my kids (I have 4 kids aging 13 years to 4 years) preferred the wild turkey, our grandparents (who never had wild turkey before) preferred it over the store bought. As one of my friends states it all comes down to how you cook it, was little tougher than store bought, but the taste was sooo much better. They were both cooked the same way..

Turkey hunting reminds me of elk hunting the rut. Locate bulls/toms by calling and move into place. Bulls/toms respond to your cow/hen calls and you can track their location as they approach. They may come talking or silently walking, but they do respond to calls. Turkey hunting also breaks up the long wait from January to September for me.

Spring is a beautiful time to be in the woods. And at least for me, turkeys have been much more challenging than deer.

I gave up spring turkey hunting. Bowhunting from sept through the new year takes enough of my time from family and work. I can't justify the extra days in the spring and truthfully with turkeys if you killed one tom you killed a 100 of them. They don't float my boat at all....

I had never hunted them until this season. Began bow hunting November of 2015. Needless to say it is now all I want to do is go out with my bow and hunt something. Crazy obsession. I have been hunting my whole life it is my passion. Any time I can have a live target helps get the experience to stay calm. Or at least attempt to. I still can't watch turkey hunting on television.

I probably enjoy hunting turkey's with a bow just as much as I do chasing whitetails. Developing the skills to know where to set up and how and when to use what calls is certainly not something that happens over night. The excitement of hearing birds and knowing that you are in the game, is a lot of fun for sure. I wouldn't miss a Spring turkey season.

I cannot justify the price of a turkey tag versus a whitetail. A 25 dollar tag for a short season for one bird or 24 dollars for a whitetail and I can hunt for months. If you were giving one turkey tag per hunter for the entire season for like 20 bucks it would make more sense to me. Also it's only 20 dollars for a fishing license and I can fish all year round.

There is not much you can do for that kind of entertainment for $25. That's a bargain for a few days of fun. And, you get to eat a great turkey for the cost.
