Sorry but you seem confused... you need to go back to your original posting of definitions of bows. NOT ONE,again, NOT ONE stated above needed to be hand drawn in the presence of an animal. Which if were true well due to my crossbow not having an engaged string. I have had to not only draw but deadlock and draw my bow when an animal was present. That sorta screws your personal addition to a bows definition.. Let's stick a pin in your next definition the "arrow" I can see why you'd leave that definition off your list because....ya that's right there is NOT ONE MENTION OF LENGTH NOR DIAMITER OF SHAFT IN SAID DEFINITION. It just says a shaft with feathers on one end and point or cutting on the other shot from a bow.
As I said you showed your true angst towards cross bows. It's not the weapon not at all it's your issue with having more hunters in "your woods" hunting "your deer". You can't hide the words you've spoken.

angst my ass, I despise the damn things !! ..... dont be so Woke OND, ... thats right, to many ruin a once good area, you must be fine with that ... Ive seen waaay to many once good locations get f'd up by to many on the place .... I do NOT want to see, smell nor hear another human when I'm hunting, that is one of the many reasons I hunt, to get away from all it all, its the quality of the hunt that matters to me, some of the best days spent afield have been where I never killed a thing .... maybe you'd like it if some Elmer Fudd comes prancing by right at prime time, then another, then another, well, I dont like it, that is why I'm always scouting looking for new areas/locations, to get away from these Fudds ...... Ive seen you bitchin before about trespassers ... there is very little solitude left ... and as for those who claim the things recruit new hunters, they dont, there are studies from state game depts that show all they do is move the numbers of hunters around (more gun hunters now in early BOW seasons using the things) ... so the over all numbers stay the same, or drop some ... BOW seasons should stay BOW seasons .. but the cat is now out of the bag unfortunately .... I may have to tolerate them, but I dont have to like them ...

    Woke..Lol
Here's the thing about me bitching about trespassers. It's not about them "shooting my deer" it's about my hard earned cash and work equity. Let the lazy SOB do what we did to own land and go with out, skimp and save, drive 20 yr old used cars...It's also about safety mine and their's. I've had slugs go through hubbys hair, hit the dirt in front of my face, ricochet off limbs in front of my face, cut saplings in half 3 ft off my shoulder and whistles past my ear. That's on my land. Now if and when I hunt public, well I take those type of issues as a granted. It's public, my choice. If I don't want that, then I'll go deeper. Find hidey hole type of pieces. I won't ***** about other hunters wanting to do what I'm doing.

Just really quickly, let's go over one thing on the use of the English language. Let's talk a little about the use of "to", "too", and "two".

I am going "to" enjoy my crossbow during the archery season next year in Iowa.

I am not worried about there being "too" many other hunters in the woods.

I now own "two" crossbows because they are so much fun to shoot and hunt with.

    Hope this helps.

The meme war was fun and useless but I gotta tell ya.....to bash on other sportsmen because of the weapon they choose to enjoy the outdoors with takes a pretty small minded individual. You don't like a crossbow, or a rifle, or a slingshot, then don't use it. Trad archers fought like hell to keep compounds out of "their" archery seasons. Didn't work. Traditional black powder guys fought like hell to keep in-line guns and scopes out of "their" seasons. If you use a release on a vertical bow, you are basically cheating. If you use a scope or sight on your bow, you are cheating what the archery season originated as. If your bow has more than 50% let-off you are being mechanically assisted in shooting your bow and can hold it back for a very long time. The ONLY reason you have to hate on crossbow users is a selfish one, you don't want anyone else in "your" woods. According to your own words, you really don't want anyone there at all. One way to deal with that is to buy your own woods like many of us have done. There, you can make any rules you want as to who enjoys it and when and with whatever weapon you deem to be worthy of your space. Until then, you will end up sharing the woods with folks. I would much rather a weekend warrior pick up a crossbow and actually have a chance at putting a clean shot on a deer than the same guy being forced to use a vertical bow that he seldom ever practices with. At least with the crossbow, you have a chance of him filling his tag and getting back out of the woods where you can continue to sulk by yourself. Your rants on this and several other subjects end up going to the land of unhinged. I guess there will always be people like you out there and I can rest assured that the majority are far more willing to accept change and support one another. Enjoy your solitude, I'm sure it will bring joy to others also.

Solitude always brings calmness and joy, alone with only nature .., a very satisfying feeling ... it is also why I enjoy distance/trail running .... solitude/peace and quiet ... ...

    Crossbows
Even if your bow is a horizontal one, you're still a bowhunter to us. Talk about crossbows and anything pertaining to crossbow hunting right here.
