"Should" is not a valid premise for your question, as you don't have a choice, as implied in your question posed in the subject. So long as you are a tax paying citizen and not one of the minorities excluded in the law past with such haste that a thorough reading, comprehension and analysis of its impacts could not be performed. I assume you are indeed a law abiding and tax paying citizen and not excluded by one of the clauses. So it is that unfortunately your elected representatives, those which your tax dollars also pay for--your employees, have decided to violate the enumerated powers entitled to them by our founding documents. This violation is unfortunately is not unprecedented, and part of the reason that the country is on a path to economic and political ruin, and the reason that your decendents will have to pay (economically and perhaps through ever increasing discord) and to right the wrongs. However, as inane as it sounds or appears, the reason 'you' will pay is because it is the consequence of a decision that your elected representatives have made for you as a citizen, unless you are one of the minority exclusions listed in the legislation or unless the law is overturned. If it helps, you can simply think of it as a penalty for bad decisions. As you well know, one option available to you to even begin to affect this penalty is to exercise one of your rights which has not been ignored--Vote. I would appeal to you to encourage those that you interact with to apply reason, extrapolate the fiscal, political, and ethical consequences for future decisions and penalties as well as review the Constitution and Federalist paper 45.
