So let me get this straight. Your telling me that you can sacrifice the standard of living of the millions of people who own the stock so the a much smaller group of people can improve theirs. That logic can't even be argued with. Why not just have a fundamentally sound reason to move production...for example: access to a more skilled labor pool, or a decrease in manufacturing cost ect ect ect.....there are plenty of good reason to make a move like this...so what are they? Oh wait this will help mikes dinner down the road. Screw the 129000 state workers in California who as of right now apple is about about 15% of there future retirement income. If Apple quits having it's processors made in TX and sends those jobs to Taiwan, you still going to cheerleader for them? (not sure if that's true, I really don't pay much attention to Apple. I ended up retiring my BB and bought a Samsung.... and boy do I miss my blackberry.)
I'm pretty sure that Apple has people who are much more informed in developing business strategies for their company than anyone hanging out in the water cooler section at bowhunting.com Apple stock went up 1.22% today. Yesterdays stock loss had less to do with Apple itself and more to do with concerns over the empending fiscal cliff and tax consequences that could be associated with it depending on what happens.
So are you backing the truck up? You would not be alone in thinking 550 a share is cheap right now. In regards to the fiscal cliff. You inadvertently make my point, with the current uncertainty is a production shift to the US, even a small one the right call, timing wise now? We ran Apple up 35% for the year so far without them pandering to the BS media, why start now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It starts out small, but guess what those people buy things because they have cash, then more people get jobs and they buy things. I know it's an interesting concept!
Right, but they make the processors for Apple. And Apple is shopping around for another chip maker and high on that list is one in Taiwan.
Hilarious that Apple outsources the manufacture of the processor to Samsung. You know that if they could find anyone else to do as good of job, they would have long ago. We will see what happens, but for now it appears to be more of a PR move than anything else. I hope I am wrong.
Now that's funny right there. Apple has to rely on their number one competitor to produce the most important component. I didn't know that.
The suit against samsung failed because Apple has so little control over proprietary imformation That they couldn't prove they actually lost anything. That in it self is a reason they need to take more control of development in future.
Corning makes the glass here in the US also , Harrodsburg, Kentucky. Most of the parts are made in the US, Japan and Germany.
