after reading so many things about rages and having my friends convince me, i decided to buy a pack of them this year. i wanted to go to the range and test them out to see if they really flew like field tips. they did but i found that after one shot with one of the heads, the o ring busted off. i figured no big deal, i still have 2 left. then on opening day, a doe came into range and i spined her. in order to "Finish her" i shot again through the neck and killed her right away. when i went to retrieve my arrows, i found that both of those o rings were gone too! so then i had to borrow a new rage head from my buddy in order to keep hunting the rest of the weekend!

so i will be switching to the bloodrunners this week because i like the concept of them and it seems like a lot of people are happy with them. i do have a question though. for those who use them, do you like the 3 blades or the 2 blade? im kinda leaning towards the 2

You won regret it. I switched to Bloodrunners for the same reason and will never waste money on the rage again.

Hope you are happy with the switch. O rings are inexpensive, but you have to be confident in what you shoot. Sounds like the broadhead did its job on a high hit. Good luck with the switch, havent had any personal experience with the bloodrunner, but it sounds like a good product.

Where do the O rings go? Is it between the broadhead and the arrow, or do they go in the arrow itself? I haven't started using the broad heads and I am trying to learn all I can.

The o rings go at the base of the head to hold the blades in place.

The o ring is in the back of the bh.near the arrow shaft. The o ring locks the ''cams'' back.I've never had a problem with them. The 2 blades r better than the 3 I have used both,go with the 2 blade is my opinion.
I went back to my thunderheads, gor a load of them so to save a few(30 )bucks

Did you look on the end of your arrow? Sometimes when I shoot a deer with my rages, the o rings will slide clear up to the fletchings.

I thought this thread had to be a joke.

" I don't want to shot rage because the o-ring is gone"

    hmmm

I think common sense would say go to the hardware store and buy a few o-rings for 5 cents each. If you think they are junk I will take them. I'll even pay the postage.

Do me a favor.....check the ferrule on the spine shot...or any of them for that matter. 3 shots, I'd be willing to bet one of the ferrules are bent. Check for me.

If it's only the O Rings....you are lucky and that's reasonable, but I'd bet the O rings aren't the major problem. with you using them again.

why dont you just go find a arrow head and sharpen it and use it. Therefore if it does not deploy or you loose the O ring it is your fault. Seems to me that you are upset with a spine shot that you took and that you had to shoot her again. Also Rage has these Blue things that come in every package. I think they say Practice head But anywho... I found a site you ought to look at for o-rings

i realize that i can keep buying o rings, but i figure if im spending $40 on a pack of 3 broadheads, i shouldnt have to fix something on them every time i take a shot

Wow he wants something for nothing....I have only lost 2 O rings found one at the end of my arrow, the other one I lost cause i couldnt find the other half of my arrow lol. O rings are cheap and can get them anywhere. I have a feeling the Oring issue isnt his only reason for stepping away from the Rage. I wont use anything but Rage.
