First, the shot angle is much better. Almost ALWAYS double lung hit, nuff said. Also, I dont have to worry about the spine or single lung hits on sharp angles. There are far fewer limbs to prune or worry about. And, I have never been busted taking all the pictures or video I care to shoot at that height. Not to mention, it is obviously easier to hang the stands. If you are good at stand placement height is not really a factor in most woods. What do you guys think??

    To paraphrase Davidmil:

To me, beans are like women. I mean, I'm not going to compare one from 55 years ago to one in 2009. You just got to take each and appreciate it for what it is. Some are better than others but I haven't had one I'd say was bad.

A lot of it is dictated by the woods and the situation. I have spots that are very open and I could easily go up to 30'-35' and not have to trim shooting lanes. I also have some spots that if you're over 12' you have to do major trimming.

I personally am not comfortable over 25'. I'm not a big fan of heights and that's my upper limit. I'm usually around 15-20' and it is very rare that I get busted by sight. I too have had deer bed down nearly within spitting distance and never spook.

Treestand height? Real men hunt from the ground! Deer hunting is so easy for me, I might not use a blind this year. Just stand next to a tree...without camo.

i am with you guys, I have no intention of being any higher than 18 feet. Don't really care for heights either.

You can, but you MUST wear a minimum of 3 layers of Scentlok. Makes for some expensive beans. Not recommended early season either. My gramma passed out from heat exhaustion one year. Found her hanging by her belt. Ticked me off because she spilled most of her beans and the coons ate 'em.

18-22 feet for me, any higher and it makes the angle tough for an ethical double lung hit.

Vito, it's a lot more threatening if you put that in huge, bold, green, type.

But the ninja thing is cool. I wonder if there is such a thing as ninjabean???

Actually theres not enough differenc in a 10 yard shot at 20' compared to a 20 yard shot at 30' for anyone to give a rats ass. Just my 2 cents.
