My grandmother lived in Indianapolis for 60+ years. She was a big sports fan, and absolutely loved the Colts, although she never made it to a game. She passed away Dec 19th and in her obit it just mentioned her being a Colts fan and a sports fan in general. The Colts organization sent flowers to the funeral home and the card was signed by Jim Irsay (the owner of the Colts). How many pro teams of any kind would do something like that? GO COLTS!!!
That's a nice story and all, but... Any pro team would do that when someone sends the team a letter about their Grandma that just passed away.
While I'm truly sorry to hear about your Grandmother I can not root for the Colts and or Jim Irsay. The only "flowers" he sent Baltimore football fans were Mayflower moving trucks. This is not a dig, I'm just answering the question in your post.
No one sent a letter. No one contacted the Colts at all. I guess that someone in the organization just saw the obituary.
You all will just never get over that will ya. I mean it has been 26 years ago. The Colts are in a much happier place now. I think it was very thoughtful of them to send flowers.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UFuE0uva_aQ Next time Indy hosts a playoff game and decides to put "United We Stand" on every seat please remember where it came from. What's next are you gonna start calling Lucas Oil Stadium the "Worlds Largest Indoor/Outdoor Insane Asylum"?
Lamar Hunt did this countless times actually. And everybody who's a football fan should be a fan of Lamar Hunt! Without him there wouldn't be a Super Bowl!
