Combo....I like bragging rights, a lot of bone, and the challenge of it all. I'm curious what "other" reasons are?

"Other" to me is "Just Because." I honestly don't have a real reason. I just want to.

    And its Schafer.....Scabbot. :bash:

personally challenge by far.... its not everyday a mature whitetail slips up and does the same thing twice or makes himself patternable. I think taking each year and outdoing the previous year is the hardest chess match you can imagine. Its not always about antler size either.... if i have a history with a buck for 3+ years then its game on and hes a target!

Defiantly personal challenge is at the top by a long shot but when you have three older brothers like myself, bragging rights are nice to have! :)

I love a lot of bone. NO question about it. But I also love the challenge of hunting these mature critters. They're different. They act differently, rarely make mistakes and just are overall a tough to hunt and even tougher to kill. Simply put, its what gets me out of bed at 4AM each fall.

Because someone has to. Everyone else around here keeps killing all the young ones so I volunteered to kill the old ones.

Combo and this is going to be sad to say to you all BUT right now I am enjoying shed hunting more than bow hunting due to my daughter being involved at the age of 9. She will be hunting with me more but we get more bone small and large shed hunting. I am sure I will go back to bow hunting once my daughter either stops going or gets married and hunts with her man. Trust me I will still bow hunt but the enjoyment is more with my daughter before dad is no longer on the COOL LIST!

This many votes and I'm the only one to say that I simply like big antlers? Wow...

I've been in awe of nice racks since I was a teenager.

Take that any way you want.

Me too !!! I've passed on a more mature buck that we had a ton of history trying for a younger one with a bigger rack. I've passed on a lot good bucks each year trying for the biggest rack I can find. Pretty sure it isn't an ego thing because I have no problem eating a tag rather shooting something just so I can say I got my buck.

I like big racks. Bigger the better.

Sounds a lot like me, Tim...

I've seen many people on here pose hypothetical threads like "Would you kill a 4 1/2-year old with a 140" rack or a 3 1/2-year old that was pushing 160?"

I'll take the biggest rack every time. :)
