I never imagined that I would stay in Louisiana all my life, much less stay in the same town/city my entire life. If my wife gave the "ok", we would be gone as soon as possible.

For those the say you never plan on moving elsewhere how do you know you would not love elsewhere even more than where you are currently located?

I'm about an hour or so south from where I was born and raised. My work is here and that would be why. :) I'd loved to up and move out west but I fear the unknown (like someone said most do).

Near Charleston (not in) if SC. NC, we would be torn. My wife would want to be in the Eastern half, I would want to be in the western half. Doesn't really matter as it probably won't happen for a long time, but I sure hope it does.

Let's all move to Charleston. Such a great little city. It is like NOLA lite.

I would like to move out west somewhere after myself and my girlfriend are done with school. She will be going longer than i will so we will be in Champaign for a few years. Then id like to move and find a job out west but might have to settle for a place north would be my next choice. Like a lot of you already stated about your wife or GF, mine is the same way and would like to stay relatively close to her family. So we will see what the future holds. Also where we find jobs is a big part.

My grandparenta met on Luie Bromfields farm (Malabar Farms). They got married and moved back to my grandpas home township of Chatham in the 1930's. Weve beeb here ever since. I have a largw family on both my mothers and fathers side that live in this township.

Its small town farm life but i wouldnt trade it for anything.

Agree its two completely different areas. The eastern part has better hunting and flat. Western has the mountains, which hold hiking, fly fishing, etc.

I dont. But im comfortable. I do alot of transport in the suburbs and the Cleveland area. The city life (apartment, town house) just isnt for me.

I love traveling and fell in love with being closer to not in a city (Cincinnati) this summer and fall. If you would have asked me in high school, no not a chance I would live anywhere else. Now I would move there, or comparable tomorrow.

I am lucky to have a good job with security and it doesnt depend on the economy. Its where I grew up and my family is close, as is my wifes. Glad to get out of Illinois, even though only 3 miles out of it. Northern burbs are money pits. High taxes to pay for the ex-government employees prison sentences. All that said, I would like to check out Colorado or Wyoming. I know people that have gone there and never came back. I would like to go were Fitz is too, but winters are too long.

I've got a million dumb reasons I live where I do. None are really that valid for holding me here, save that I'd get slammed financially trying to sell until I get a few major remodelling projects finished.

However for Pittsburgh, I lke where I live. Quick access to the city, but far enough that I feel rural.

I would love to live out west, I just doubt I could find a job there.

Does Alaska have better weather than the Midwest?

If you are moving somewhere for the weather, just move to San Diego.
