My neighbor visited his daughter in Chicago. They were having a free dog adoption day and he was wanting another dog so they started looking. When he told them he lived on a farm and the dog would be free roaming, they would not let him have a dog. After the second time he got turned down they found out the "City Slickers " call the farm the place where the dogs go to play when they die. Now beat that one ! ! ! !
Funny we live on "our" farm. We also hunt on our farm. We farm 20 acres, which we rotate between corn and beans. We also have honey bees. Can we sustain our living arrangements off what our farm makes, no. It does make a profit and we absolutely love doing it. When we bought the place, it was a cattle farm. It is amazing how we have turned it around and how much the animals have moved back in now that the cattle are gone. It's only 53 acres, but it's ours. I get those same reactions when i say my dog is outside most of the day. They act like I'm kicking their kids or something telling me how terrible and abusive it is for a dog to live outside. Had a pic one time on fb when he was outside and it was snowing and one my cousin's, who lives in st louis, friends threatened to call the animal shelter on me. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
