I think you read too much into my statement. Simply meant to say that one way or another men feel the need to provide by one means or another. Guess that got lost in the wording. Not insinuating anything.
The way we live today is fairly new when it comes to history of humanity. We have spent thousands of years on this earth hunting and gathering. Then suddenly we made a huge shift toward agriculture, which then turned into development. Even though we have lost that survival mentality, it is still in our body and minds through the years of evolution. We are at our purest forms as humans when we hunt. It just comes natural to us like any other predator. The question shouldn't be "why do you hunt", the question that needs to be asked is, "Why wouldn't you hunt?"
I think its for the rush we have in the moment of it and for the food. And I think part of it is knowing we are the predator and they are the pray which gives us a feeling all on its own too
I guess for me it's the challenge. I didn't grow up hunting, so I have had to challenge myself to learn how to hunt and to make myself a better hunter every step of the journey. Providing for my family is another benefit of the hunt, but I don't think that is what drives me as I can already provide food for my family. I tend to like challenges, they make me better. Once I felt like I had become a good hunter, I challenged myself to become a bowhunter. Once I felt like I had become a good bow hunter, I took up filming my hunts. I keep adding challenges and new goals.
As human, you are naturally a predator. Providing food through hunting is far more satisfying than grocery shopping.
I can't try to explain it. Then I realized my grandpa has got a serious inner mountian man, I think that's where I get it. My dad never hunted, he caught the "bug" after he had back straps from a deer he shot. I've got to see the leaves change and I've got to hear deer run through timber, and I've got to spend time with family. This far, this is all I know Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It's who we are. It's genetically imprinted into mankind to seek food and have dominion over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock in the fields, and all creeping things of the Earth.
I can't say I disagree with anyone here...I hunt & fish not just because I like to eat but because I feel connected to nature. I feel good about just being outdoors. The challenge of the hunt, the chase, the harvest, the field dressing...The fact that you have to out smart your quarry to be successful. It's rewarding..I feel the same about fishing. A lot of times i just catch snap a picture and release em' back into the wild from which it came (unless i'm eating it). The natural world is an astonishing creation. I believe it's a living testament to our creator. It's proof to those that don't believe we were purposely created and not some cosmic accident. There is no accident possible that could create such specific details in nature. I love this earth man and all the bountiful specimens on it. It's our responsibility as hunters and sportsmen/women to do everything we can to ensure the future of what we do.
For me it's just the progression of everything I did as a kid from climbing trees to making forts in the woods. Hell I walking to doc office after hunting and had them wondering why my bp was so low. Plus you can't beat the taste of vinison. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Awesome!!! God created us to love Him and his creation. A creation that was given to us for our needs and enjoyment. We do because that is who we where created to be!
I really just enjoy seeing the animals and nature in its natural form and if you weren't hunting and striving to be invisible you wouldn't see as much. The killing part is just to show something for all this time we get to enjoy alone in the woods. Kilboars Hunt Club
