Probably his yard. He can run in his yard right? The cat was the one breaking the lease law.

    2. For those that said they'd kill the deer... are you going to pull out your concealed handgun and rip off a couple rounds in the neighbors house... or run inside, put on your release, nock an arrow, run outside, draw and shoot? I don't think there was enough time to do a whole lot. Don't get me wrong, I have a dog that I love and would do damn near anything for him... but really what could you have done?

Wouldn't have had the concealed on me in my own yard most likely. I know I said I would shoot the deer but in all reality I would have taken the most effective way of putting that deer down or at least getting it off my dog or a neighbors dog for that matter. I would although most likely take a few blows from it's hoofs inflicted some kind of damage with the knife I always carry.

I killed a deer with a tire iron once.

I keep a maglite by the door for easy access too. ;)

While I might not have killed the deer then, I'd kill it if it came back. I have very little tolerance for yard deer.... zero tolerance for an aggressive one.

Interesting. The deer for sure seen the dog as a threat, she doesn't know the difference between a pet and roaming predator looking for a tasty meal. Not sure what I would've done. Probably nothing, I wouldn't get in the middle of Flailing Hoofs of Death! "Curiosity killed the cat", luckily for him he was spared one of it's 9 lives! Great footage, you don't see that everyday!

I guess this just makes all hunters more aware of the growing problem that we have with suburbs popping up in our corn fields and nature. What do you expect when you build around wildlife? We are in their territory.

I've got lots of implements within arms reach in my garage that would inflict deadly blunt force trauma. Not to say I'd come out unscathed, but once the tables were turned I'm sure my pit mix and lab would be able combatants as well.

Beside dude, this is the Internet. If you can't talk s--t here where can you?:p

Maybe his yard... but probably not his city sidewalk and definitely not his street. Point being, keep your dog under control. ;)

HuntingBry... I'm with you, but someone has to play the devil's advocate every now and then :D

    I'm out.:woot:. Won't :argue: the point.
Great footage of a growing problem. But that's where I like to hunt, damn near in someone's backyard. :D So keep building, not only does it create great hunting but it provides jobs too.:tu:. That's a good thing.

First off, typical dog owner. yelling from it's property, instead of having that dog under their control. It pisses me off to no end when dog owners think that their animals have the right to roam off their property and then angry when someone shoots their dog. I have had several issues while jogging with dogs being off their property & away from their masters. That deer was doing what comes to it naturally, protecting its young. Keep in mind that I hunt and love dogs, but what would give you the right to shoot that deer, when clearly that dog wasn't where it should have been, on a leash, or on it's property.

    Pretty intense....

Knowing the fact that I do not live in a residential area like in the video.....

If something like that was to go down in my yard, to my dog, that would have been the last thing that doe ever did as long as I could react in time.

My dog is very friendly and I would doubt he would have any idea how to defend himself in such a situation.

The deer saw the dog as a threat... it defended it young. The idiots where letting their cat maul the fawn and apparently thought it was cool and filmed it... when they should have gotten the cat out of there and left it alone. We wonder why the doe was shook up to start with ?? I actually wished the doe would of done a lot worse to the cat for their stupidity. What a dumb assed society we have become.

I am surprised at the responses of killing the doe. She wasn't mean... she was shook up and was protecting her young. No different then you killing her to protect your dog. You guys are mean dooming a fawn to death if you had your way!!! Shame on you !! It could be someone's trophy years down the road!! :bash:  :D

Tim, taking the cat out of the equation, let's be realistic. That deer ran half a block to attack the dog. The dog was nowhere near her fawn. Honestly I don't care if she is defending her fawn or not. If that deer is attacking my dog, I'm stopping the deer one way or another. If it means ending her, so be it. I know plenty of deer farmers I could get to take the fawn if that were the case.

By your logic you would rather see a dog, which is a family companion and likely raised from a pup and loved for years get killed or maimed in favor of a potential hunting trophy. Whose priorities are out of sorts here?

I was joking about the hunting trophy... thus the :bash::rolleyes::D You guys are taking it way to serious. This was a rare situation at best. We have deer and fawns in town here... so far no doe attacks on dogs. Our kittys are safe. Maybe our does aren't killers like the ones in your area.

You had a cat mauling/scenting up the fawn, people filming and we wonder why the doe came unglued. Come on... let's be real. The odds of a doe attacking your dog... are what ??

We have dogs and raised most of them from pups. Gosh they live better then I do. The only one that has a dogs life is me. I've got the scars to prove it. LOL We love them to peices most days but apparently not like you. I didn't realize I needed to be armed and dangerous in town here defending my pooches from killer does.

Seriously... should the situation ever arise... I would protect my dogs. I wouldn't need to kill the doe in the process nor any innocent bystander (even the idiots) by going Rambo on it with fire power though. Sorry my pooches aren't worth more then a human life. Now my kids though !!!! You best get the !@#& out of the way. :biggun: :D

look the idiots sitting thier letting the damn cat maul the fawn shoulda been the ones getting the beating from mama backstraps cause its our duty as pet owners to keep an eye on our pets just like our children and to steer them from harm in this case they let thier animals run around a fawn knowing mama wasnt far away! and hell if i had a sissy dog like that i believe i would have walked over and shot the bastard for being a damn disgrace! go mama backstraps! whitetails kick ass and dont give a damn bout names ha-ha fido!

I doubt we will be seeing that dog chasing deer anytime soon.
