FYI, I hate metal too. But, how is a drug induced state of mind any different than a drunk state of mind that all country singers promote?
I hate most modern country, but there are a few artists I like still. I also like different performances (I'm a big fan of people who sound awesome live), and I'm always looking for the obscure artists no one knows about (listening to a lot of Alternative lately). With that being said, Blake Shelton, while far from what most would consider a country great, is one of my favorites, if not just for his personality. This live performance with his wife is very well done:
Only new country I can listen too anymore is Hank 3. The stuff on the radio is ALL trashy pop music to me.
Country pop trash is all that's on the radio nowadays. I love listening to some select songs from Blake, Eric Church and the Zach brown band. But they has also had there fair share of crap too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Eric Church is really the only one I like anymore. I can generally tolerate some new songs for a bit before they get annoying. Darius blows. His very first country song was not bad, but his version of Wagon Wheel is terrible.
They did some good stuff in the day. I like traditional counrry, not a big fan if this pop country stuff. I agree with king George and Alan Jackson. There was murder on music row http://youtu.be/NK1Vrur_ewM Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk
I'll be fair to country music now. There were some good things in country music in 2013. Here are a few:
To each there own when it comes to music. it could be worse!!! this forum could be full of dirty non-showering hairy incest ridden Phish fans.....LOL
I love country music, it reminds me of home and growing up. i listen to the newer stuff you just have to get past the crap to find the good stuff. i also listen to alot of the old stuff, just ask my wife she hates hearing Hank williams moaning all day lol. i love all music to be totally honest as long as i can relate to it i will listen to it. i dont relate to most rap/hip hip, simply because it dosent really relate to me, but i like alot of the slow jams from usher and the messages from Tupac. to each his own, i try not to pass judgement and to stay open minded.
I don't appreciate promotion of drinking as I don't drink and never have but in my mind, drug addiction/usage is worse and the law seems to agree with that POV since most drug addiction is illegal for a great many reasons. Rock and roll is synonymous the phrase and lifestyle "Sex, drugs (and rock and roll)". Like I said, to each their own...for me personally, I can easier appreciate music that closer associates with my lifestyle. I've been born and raised and live out in the sticks so dirt roads, trucks, agriculture and the occasional get together with friends with an open cooler is like a nostalgic comfort food.
I actually think Darius Rucker is one of the better current country singers. Luke Bryan/Jason Aldean/ Florida -Georgia line all need to go away.
Brantley Gilbert and Eric Church are my two favorite just because they write their own stuff and it sounds good. Still find myself listening to more 90s country.
Brantley Gilbert has wrote a lot of Jason Aldeans songs... But I like Brantly... He dated Jana Kramer.... SCORE.
