I found it humorous but it would be easy to come up with the same generalizations when it comes to any genre. Only so many ways to reinvent the wheel.

There are a lot of better reasons why (some ) country music sucked in 2013.
Besides, I would be pissed if country songs started hitting the radio about guys trying to get guys into their Rolls Royce and calling each other "boy" while having a martini and being totally :dan: The trend towards mixing hip hop into country is the worst, a few did it tastefully and it worked but most of the time it just sucks I don't care how much they throw dirt roads, trucks, girls or whatever in. I never got the "river bank" thang. If we'd have ever tried to get our gals to go to a river bank we'd have been laughed at. A good pond or lake party and bonfire was always a safe bet though.

There are a lot of reasons why a lot of country music DIDN'T totally suck in 2013 as well...namely Jason Aldean's music.

 I thought the same thing. Aside from the fact that he doesn't write any of his own stuff (nor do most of the folks in that video) he falls into the "big trucks, tight jeans, beers and broads" genre of country music.

I was on a bit of a country kick the past few years but I really lost interest this past year. Every time I turned on the radio it was the same stuff over and over, just a different singer. I'm sure there's some good stuff in country music, but the "big names" certainly aren't it.

Oh, and if Nickelback died and came back as a country band it would be Florida Georgia Line. They're the worst of the bunch with their sleeveless t-shirts, tattoos, chain wallets and horrible songs.

well they mentioned trucks but never said anything about Mama or trains or prison or getting drunk
the key ingredients for a perfect country and western song.

I haven't liked country since the mid 90s. It's all "sweat tea", "sittin on the porch", "corn bread and chicken", or "my tractor/truck" nonesense or the new thing is what I like to call "Crap" (country rap). There's very little meaning or creativity anymore. YouTube is blocked from work but I think I get the gist based on the other comments.

Never cared for country music ever. If Nickelback went country... I probably would listen. I bet they could pull it off and make millions doing it. :)

    Are we talking Darius?

How about the fact that he absolutely butchered Wagon Wheel.

His cover of Wagon Wheel is awful. Add in the fact that he was the singing cowboy in the Burger King commercials. He's just bad.

    2013? What about 2012, 2011, 2010, 2009, 2008, 2007, 2006, 2005, 2004, etc. Country has been the same broken record for many years.

While we're at it, we may as well be preemptive and throw in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017...............

Well hey...if you just hate country music then you're just another hater that can't be pleased with country music no matter what is presented to you...

I hate rock...always have so I can see where you are coming from...from an "I just hate that crap" perspective. When you dislike something it all sounds the same, that can be said for any genre of anything. Everyone has different tastes, if you don't like music about prominent "country situations, scenery, life and living then just stick with metal head, drug induced state of mind and be happy.
