Why are some expensive bows slow?

They're just born that way, they deserve to be treated with love and respect like all other bows.

Price isn't always about speed with bows. It's arguable that a $1500 bow that can throw ten thousand 330fps arrows down range with consistency is more valuable than a bow that will explode after throwing five hundred 370fps arrows downrange and shoots inconsistently.

Build quality, materials, brand name and technology.

Heres a real world speed test, not 100% fair as the Logic, PSE and Hoyt have a whisker biscuit and the Triax has a three prong rest with no fletching interference, I personally dont think it made a difference, but it may to some. Logic IBO: 330 fps, Triax IBO: 343, RX1 IBO: 330-350 depending on model and the PSE IBO: 332-342. The PSE is fast, no doubt compared to the others, but the Prime, Mathews and Hoyt weren't that far off from each other.

Another culprit would be an un-tuned bow with lots of string attachments......or a highly over-hyped brand.
