damnit i missed this whole thing! Honestly, i just dont want to have sex with one woman my whole life
Uh... you tossed in the words "genetically programmed." They are not "genetically programmed," they are born into condemnation (John 3:17) Dead in their sin (Ephesians 2) He did not create us to act like monsters but to worship, respect and adore Him. He created us in His image but "we" have so distorted that image that He is angry... but more than that He is love and wants a loving relationship with us... with you... with your children... Thats what you should tell them.
Oh no... nothing could be further from the truth. I am so sorry if that is the impression I gave. I sure don't intend for anyone to get that impression. The truth is I am an absolutely hopeless and helpless beggar who has just discovered where the free bread is. We are all hungry... it's just that we don't always eat what's best for us and sometimes we avoid the right things for the wrong reasons. i.e. People avoid marriage because their parents divorced or we avoid introducing our children to the Lord because we know someone who is a hypocrite. The truth is we all are (hypocrites) to some degree... thats the point... we are incapable of pefectly living in His image and we all need help.
Preach it preach, I got your back! Honestly, a lot of guys don't want to be tied down, and a lot of girls they mess with aren't the kind you want to marry. I'm different, I stick to one woman and am picky. I've got a good one now, she treats me right, and my family loves her and vise versa and our parents get along. It doesn't mean that I do not have the sense to wait until I get out of school and can afford to get married. I am in the minority group though that actually want to get married. Like I said before, guys just want to frig as many as they can, and the ones that allow them the chance aren't the ones most want to marry.
I cannot logically understand the above bolded selection. My kids due to no fault of their own, where born as sinners and are strongly dissaproved of by God? I just don't get it, really I do not.
The sad truth is that none of us have to learn to sin, it just seems to come natural to us. I am not completely sure I understand it all either and I have three Seminary degrees. I am sorry for the way I sounded (in writing) earlier, please forgive me, you didn't want or need to be preached to. Probably the best way to think of it is that He didn't, doesn't want us to remain in our sin but to be redeemed from our sin and that is why we celebrate Christmas. Instead of remaining on His throne, which He could have easily done and still be God, He put on flesh (again I don't understand it) and dwelled with man which is where we get the word Emmanuel. So often we (I) preachers/Christians fail to model the very God we claim to love to the world and we make it very difficult for others to believe/accept. It's not about all the tradition and all the hoopla of playing church and following a bunch of rules that make no sense, but its just about simply abiding in the fact that He loves us and wants us to love Him in return. You see living in step with God, what we call heaven, is a wonderful, peaceful place but He is Holy above all else and only that which is Holy may dwell with Him. Its not our holiness that allows us to do so... but His, which is why He became a man, fully able to identify with us in our temptations and our pain and our circumstances. As far as being born sinful... it is a burden we all share, but with a means of escape through Christ.
Brett ... I am going to be typing up a "Why" according to the Bible Jesus came into the word .... look for it ... then we can discuss any questions you or anyone else have ... love ya, Bro
I see no pros about this, and to honest I don't think anyone could state a reason or convince me there is a pro to this. It's already been said that the sacred vows that is marriage have already been trampled on so much that today's younger generations either view marriage as a waste of time or even worse as something that can change and isn't permanent (example a co-worker of mine who is now 29 and has been divorced THREE TIMES!). The crumbling aspect of family and the american household cannot be pushed aside as a non-factor in why this nation is so lost and on the verge of never getting back to where it needs to be. I honestly could go on and on about this topic but the sad truth is it isn't going to change a thing. All I can do is live my life, witness when chances present themselves, share my thoughts when I can and live my life in a fashion which hopefully makes my Father proud.
The most common rationalization for the lack of scientific evidence is the "God must remain hidden" argument. Many believers try to rationalize God's existence by saying something like this: "The existence of the universe proves God's existence. Something had to create the universe. Science has no explanation for the universe's creation. Therefore, God created it." The way to understand that this is a rationalization is to look back in history. Ancient people, before they had science, explained many things that they did not understand with "gods." There have been sun gods, thunder gods, fertility gods, rain gods, etc. The Bible works the same way. It tries to explain many things that its ancient authors did not understand by attributing them in God. For example, if you read Genesis 9:12-13 you will find this: And God said, "This is the sign of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for all future generations: I set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and the earth..." This is the Bible's explanation of rainbows. Of course we now know that rainbows are a prismatic effect of raindrops. In the same way, Genesis chapter 3 tries to explain why human childbirth is so painful and Genesis chapter 11 tries to explain why there are so many human languages. These are myths, nothing more. In the same way, Genesis chapter 1 contains the Bible's creation myth. The creation of the universe and life is attributed to God. We already know that God had nothing to do with the creation of life, but religious people still try to attribute the creation of the universe to God. The fact is, God had nothing to do with the creation of the universe, in the same way that God has nothing to do with the sun rising or rainbows appearing. Science does not have a complete explanation for the universe's creation, yet. While it is true that science does not yet know everything there is to know about the universe, scientists will eventually figure it out. When they do, what they will find is that nature created the universe, not an imaginary being.
Real science PROVES the existence of God by it's inability to explain creation and prove it's evolution THEORY ....
You seem like an intelligent guy... But... come on... this is fact... really? And you know all this how to be fact how? By so called science that has not yet proven anything. You made some pretty bold statements... Please tell us you're an Astro-Physicist or something. Give us something to know you have some legitimate claim to be asserting what even the greatest scientist are still grappling with and by the way many are coming to conclude that creation could not have just happened with no plan.
