Not replacing anything. We currently do not have gutters anywhere on the house, but there is an issue of water splashing up under the siding on one span of the house which is rotting the siding. So my plan is to place gutters along the span, then replace the bad siding.
Is this guy trying to put copper on your house or something? It's the only way I could see the cost.... Well, it always makes good sense to shop around. Honestly I'd look on craigslist instead of the phone book. A lot of insured people on craigslist because it's free advertising. I'd ask for references, make sure they have insurance, and get at least 3 bids. Update us when you know more. Also, are they having to add Fascia then (ie, do you have the rafters coming out they can tack onto?)? That would definitely bump the cost up.... and make $1000 seem a little more reasonable. A difficult install will always cost more.
In North Carolina we pay about 3.5-4.50 per foot. Seamless, rolled on site, residential size. Grand is total ripoff.
He's giving you the high hard one. Always get three quotes. That was something my dad always drilled in my head.
Do you know Hooker personally? Just wondering... Alot of sac-riding/ball busting for someone so new...
Id tell your wife to wear fewer clothes for the next quote. That should bring the price down. Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk
How many women have paid to have muffler bearings replaced on their car? You might not take any notice of a man wearing work boots but the man wearing work boots notices the man wearing sandals, obviously in this case he was trying to sell muffler bearings .
Holy hell, so either the first guy was really trying to screw me over, or just did not understand what I wanted, or miscalculated somewhere, because the guy that just came quoted me $285.
What? Are you saying my muffler bearings didn't need replacing?? I thought it was kinda expensive but then again, they threw the blinker fluid fill up for free.
Sounds just about right to me though, not low. Right about What we used to charge with removal of old. I'd still get another one, but that number sounds pretty dead on to me. Again, used to do this for summer job while in college, $8 a foot was what we charged (and we were pretty competitive). I think the guy gave him a "this is what I need to make a little money" quote. Maybe the first guy thought you wanted the whole house done.... lol
Sounds better... I would consider running an add in the paper telling everyone what he tried to pull.
