If you want a cold blooded killer to either make a shot or make a StoP at the end of the game Kobe has got to be the choice. He's a year in year out all defensive player as well as the most consistent big-shot maker in the game.

Howard is definitely a unique talent, but he is also still a bit raw and, at this point in his career, lacks the offensive moves to make him the BEST player in the league. He does fill up the stat line, but he needs someone to get him the ball and also is limited to 12 feet and in. Much of the same can be said about Paul, he is IMO the best PG in the game today, but if his team is struggling can he reel off 12-15 points from 18 feet and out like Lebron or Kobe? I'm not so sure.

Lebron will probably take the title as the league's best soon enough, but I'm not sure it'll happen until Kobe retires

Did you see him today? He was a beast out there. Definitely impressive win without KG, regardless if Stoudamire was out...I figured the Suns would have them today. Rondo dropped like 32 wasnt it? Impressive.

Yep, I think it was 32 point, 10 assists, and 6 rebounds. He definetly came to play today. When Boston has the hot hand, there isn't a team in the leauge that can compete, but this season they seem to temporarily loose concentration and thats when they loose games.

Rondo looked good. But i still dislike him. I hate the entire Celtics team really. Not that's theirs anything wrong with it, but when you buy that much talent id hope you would win a championship.

I take it your not a yanks fan?:d

Kobe is hands down the best basketball player right now in the game. Some guys are incredible at some things but lack elsewhere. Other guys are good at everything but not really great in one particular area. Kobe is flat out great at everything from knocking down 3's to even posting up if hes got to. Lebron will get there once his jumper improves. But until then Kobe will reign supreme!

Not necessarily. Kobe has a great supporting cast around him, better than LeBron has ever had. LeBron is a better passer, and gets inside to get rebounds and does more for a TEAM than I believe Kobe does. That being said, I do believe Kobe responds to the HIGH PRESSURE situation better, which makes it a tough call, but I think overall, LeBron would be a more valuable player to a team for 82games. If I need a guy to take over the fourth quarter in Game 7, though, I believe Kobe is almost as good as MJ was, LeBron has not shown that capability yet.

I believe LeBron is the best all around player.... Kobe is the best all around scorer in the league.

    There is a big defference.

Kobe is not a team player... He doesn't make his supporting cast better.

LeBron's supporting cast this year is just as good as Kobe's.

2 years ago, Kobe had nobody, and single handily guided that team into the playoffs and took the Suns to Game 7.

Of course, you could say the same about LeBron last year with Boston.

    Still...

    Kobe >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Lebron

I agree... The Cavs have a pretty good starting roster this year.... I just hope all of the injuries to their starters doesn't affect team chemistry. Big Z and D. West both missed over a month and Ben Wallace has missed quite a few games now as well. The cavs have depth off the bench, but not high quality depth. I think the Lakers excel in this department.

The only thing that can back this up is this assist line on the state sheet, and even that is easily explained. The Cavs run everything through Lebron. You will rarely see a possession go by where he doesn't attempt to make a play. Kobe, on the other hand, is the go-to-guy for the Lakers but in the Triangle-offense you can't run exclusively through one player. Look back through the box scores, there are several games where Kobe only scores 10-15 points and the Lakers still win handedly. Why? Because he makes the team better through things that don't show up in the box score.
