When you're on the stand or in the woods, what creature do you enjoy seeing the most (excluding the game you're after of course)?

While I love to see Pine Martens, Mink, Fishers, Fox, Jays and countless others. I have to say that my favorite woodland companion is....

I love chickadees:). Always cheerful, and always feeding! Some of those late season hunts, when it's below zero and storming, they are the only other creature that's out enjoying the woods. Hopping from branch to branch (and sometimes my hat, bow or leg), they are a most welcome sight. I don't know why, I just love these guys!

Hawks. I seem to see them a lot. Sharp-shinned and redtails.

Foxes. Red or gray, but I usually see more reds.
Fortunately I get to see a lot. After my first few hunts of the season last year I had seen more total foxes than deer.

I saw so many deer while turkey hunting back in the spring. I fully expect to see all those turkeys I was looking for come Sep. 12 and the deer will be gone....

I like seeing all the creatures for the most part.I really like it when an owl makes his way in.It is fun to see how long it takes him to realize I don't belong and bail.

I HATE seeing blue jays though. It wouldn't bother me if those suckers went extinct.

Turkeys are fun to see, but not when they see you.

I saw a bald eagle last year, first one I'd ever seen in the wild. Very cool. I hate having yotes come by, I feel like the hunt is pretty much over at that point.

Most common throughout the season definetely Chickadees. Saw quite a few fox which is cool. Coolest thing while hunting was a Wolverine. Only saw one once but it was cool.

Bluejays, for some reason it seems like every time I've seen a bluejay a deer is soon to follow. Just a good luck thing for me.

Jeff, since you brought up our friend the squirrel... :)

Try still-hunting your way along the side of a Colorado mountain the morning after it's rained all night and you're unbelievably stealthily quiet -- to the point you can't even hear yourself take a step.

You just KNOW you're goin to be able to slip in close to an unsuspecting elk that day... until a squirrel starts barking at you so loudly youi swear it could be heard on the other side of the mountain.

And THEN -- to REALLY top it off -- he FOLLOWS you for a 1/2 mile, 100 yards behind you, barking every couple minutes when you make it another 20 yards.

It took everything I had in me to keep from pulling the CZP01 I had strapped to my side out and empying two magazines at him.

I love seeing all animals. Squirrels do get annoying but I still enjoy watching them. One of my favorite hunting experiences was watching a red tail hawk trying to get a squirrel. It was truly awesome to watch. Since Missouri gives two Turkey tags with your bow tags I love seeing turkeys. More often than not when I see turkeys, I see deer so it doesn't bother me in the least.
