I've been coonhunting with my father-in-law and i got to tell you its great for getting into shape and its fun to be in the woods again but I cant wait til turkey season need some blood on the arrow and a good gobbler is a great warm up for deer season hell i look forward to getting the line wet and the ole frog gig going it dont look like its ever going to quit snowing though its cold as hell down here in stuart va
I didn't even put in for a turkey permit this year. Can't ever draw a tag for the public land around here and I don't want to pay an outfitter again. So.. I'll just chase fish instead.
I LOVE it. I've only been doing it for two seasons, but I wish I would have started sooner. Spring is such a great time to be in the woods, and there's nothing like getting a big old tom thundering off the roost as the sun starts to creep up. I'm thinking about taking the bow exclusively this season. Still not sure, though, as I do really enjoy running and gunning.
I can't wait. Been seeing lots of hens and jakes but only one tom worth shooting. Shoot be a good year.
i' am very excited, i've got 18 days til start of turkey season, tom and jake better watch out. come march 20th im making a b-line for the tree line. my wife is waiting for the start of turkey season too, and she dont even hunt, she is just sick of me
can relate to that my wife is threating to have my hunting channels took off my satelite b/c thats all i can think about is hunting
You guys know I'm all ready! April 10th! can't wait! I have land to hunt but also put in for a permit so hopefully we get drawn. I havn't even shot any small game with my new bow I want the Turkey to by my bows first blood!
There are gobblers everywhere over here so it's not hard to find a place to get some...That's one of the main reason I was inviting people to join me.
I am pumped to get out and breath in that cool morning air and strain to hear that first gobble. Won't be long now.
